Open Calls: Opportunities for Artists and Critics at CPH STAGE

CPH STAGE in Denmark is currently seeking participants for two international initiatives. One targets early-career performing arts professionals, while the other is designed for those engaged in writing and criticism within the performing arts.

Performing Arts Centre Iceland would like to highlight two exciting opportunities offered by CPH STAGE to professionals in the field. These are the EAP – Buddy Programme and Off Stage. Both initiatives aim to strengthen Nordic networks and professional competencies, and include travel grants for participants.

Further details on these projects can be found below.

1. Off Stage (For Critics and Writers)

Application Deadline: February 1, 2026

Off Stage – Rethinking Performing Arts Criticism is a workshop for those interested in writing about, analyzing, and critiquing the performing arts. The project is open to both working critics (at all career stages) and artists wishing to deepen their understanding of the intersection between text and performance.

The workshop will take place under the guidance of experts from the renowned platform Springback.org from May 27–29, 2026, in Copenhagen.

Selected participants receive:

  • Participation in the workshop and a delegate pass for CPH STAGE and International Days.
  • Full funding: A travel grant covering flights, accommodation, and per diems.
  • Opportunities to network with international colleagues and enhance professional discourse on the performing arts.

The project is supported by the Nordic Culture Fund (Nordisk Kulturfond). Performing Arts Centre Iceland is a proud supporting partner of the project.
