THE WORK
SKÖP is Eygló's first solo work since graduating with an MA in Performance Art from the Iceland University of the Arts. The piece explores her experience of living with PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder) through the course of a single menstrual cycle.
Set in a retail environment, the work follows a worker interacting with customers as her emotional and physical state shifts. What begins as ordinary customer service gradually becomes more difficult, intimate and unpredictable. SKÖP explores the tension between private experience and public performance, and the challenge of maintaining professionalism while navigating an invisible condition.

THE ARTIST
Eygló Höskuldsdóttir Viborg (b. 1989) is a Reykjavík-based performance artist and classical concert composer. Her way into performance art was through sound design and composition for theatre, and has evolved so that she performs, writes and creates work independently and in collaboration with others. Notable is her ongoing collaboration with director Hallveig Kristín Eiríksdóttir; their most recent work together was a musical written for the National Theatre of Iceland's programme Guli Dregillinn.
