THE WORK
SUICIDAL HORSES is an endurance performance in which Lísandra moves or dances continuously for eight hours per day within a defined stage space, without a break. The work explores obsession, the limits of the body, animalistic movement, and the human as animal.

THE ARTIST
Lísandra Týra Jóns (b. 2000, Iceland) lives and works between Berlin and Reykjavík. Her practice moves across dance and performance art, video art and photography. Lísandra deals with a certain fascination of the flesh, both of the human and non-human, and explores the resonance of duration and the body at its limits. In 2023 she graduated from SEAD / Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance. She has since worked with artists such as Danh Võ and Heinz Peter Knes, while primarily developing her own solo works alongside creating and performing with her dance collective DISTANT CASUALS.
TOURING INFORMATION
3× modular stage decks (1×2 m). Track lighting or 13 small spotlights (can be adjusted to available lights). A minimum of 1.5 m space available around the modular stage decks.
