THE WORK
For Nomadic Spectacle, Marble Crowd applies their distinctive devised choreographic methods to construct a performance that acts as an invitation to regard the performance as an active coming-together. The work takes off from a large stage and branches out into the physical and social situation of the gathering — creating an invitation to explore the theatrical experience as a maze of intimacy, sharing, caring and curiosity in a shared, shaped, setting.
What can be shared, while we already share a space? Time, stories, sound, secrets, responsibility? There will be food, there will be feelings, there will be something unexpected and something built from strings and sheets. There will be dancing.

THE ARTIST
Marble Crowd is a Reykjavík based ensemble of artists interested in the site-specificity of big stages, in the impossible and in choreographic strategies of play as tools for transformative spectacle. Their latest work for stage, A Year Without Summer (Reykjavík City Theatre, January 2025) is a finale to their trilogy on hope and disaster: landscapes, big stages and the collective. Their previous two productions Moving mountains in three essays (K3 | Tanzplan, Kampnagel Hamburg, 2017) and Øland (Iceland National Theatre, 2020) have received wide acclaim.
