THE WORK
Incorporeal Memoirs (Sérstæðan) is an interdisciplinary dance performance where choreography, poetry, music, and scenography merge into one. A being from the future tells her story. She has left her body behind and uploaded herself to the digital ether. She lives only through thoughts and memories of the world that once was.
What does it mean to exist without flesh, without touch? What happens when pain and pleasure vanish, when we can no longer sense each other? And what becomes of dance, when the body is gone?
The stage itself becomes the performer. Sound, light, projection, water, and smoke become the main characters. Only the audience’s bodies remain — keeping the imagined worlds alive in real time.
Born from the idea of the technological singularity, a future moment when technology grows beyond control, the work questions the fate of the human body. Will we surrender it completely? Will we lose the ability to see and feel one another?
Incorporeal Memoirs is both ode and elegy: a tribute to the body and the senses, and a haunting reflection on what might remain when they disappear.

THE ARTIST
Rósa Ómarsdóttir is an interdisciplinary choreographer whose work explores the relationship between humans and nature, seeking non-anthropocentric narratives. She creates ecosystems of humans, non-humans, and invisible forces, interweaving choreography, live soundscapes, and visual art with a feminist dramaturgy that embraces vulnerability and flux. Her work has been presented at international festivals, theatres, galleries, and museums. She was a fellow at Akademie Schloss Solitude in 2021 and has held residencies worldwide. Rósa has received Icelandic Theatre Awards for soundscape, scenography, and choreography, along with multiple nominations.
TOURING INFORMATION
Black box theatre or adaptable stage space, minimum 10 m (width) × 12 m (depth) × 6 m (height).
Get-in evening before performance; approx. 16 hours set-up including one full build day.
Professional PA and mixer (headset mic and playback provided by company).
Full theatrical lighting rig including moving lights, hazer and control network.
Special requirements: large onstage water installation with water supply and drainage, custom-built shallow pool (approx. 6 × 7 m), rain, mist, foam and low-fog effects, video projection with two projectors.
