THE WORK
Flugubúllan is a new performance project where different embodiments of crisis explore mutation and geological lament. The research follows the simulation of the mind through different characters, Markús the Marketing Man, the Fly, and the Earth. The project explores tensions between hyper-control, collapse, and survival within systems of control and overstimulation.
The mind must find a way to cope, a marketing man pretending to be a military man pretending to be a marketing man. An interdisciplinary team investigating the absurdity of coping mechanisms in a ceremony of life and death.

THE ARTIST
Sóley Ólafsdóttir is a dance artist with a BA in Contemporary Dance Practices from IUA. Since graduating, she has been creating her own works, choreographing for ensembles, collaborating with other artists, and performing for other creators. She has performed in works by creators such as Noora Hannula, Felix Urbina Alejandre, María Ellingsen and Rósa Ómarsdóttir. Sóley both creates her own work as well as collaborating with Leevi Mettinen, as the BunnyVerse Company, which focuses on danceart for children.
