About Us

About Performing Arts Centre Iceland

Performing Arts Centre Iceland started operating in 2022 and is established by all the major stakeholders within the performing arts in Iceland. The centre is operated with support from the Ministry of Culture and Business Affairs.

Performing Arts Centre Iceland therefore plays the role of supporting Icelandic performing arts and increasing their visibility and reputation within the country and abroad.

The Centre intends to achieve its purpose through vigorous promotional activities and specific initiatives that encourage international relations among performing arts professionals and institutions in Iceland. Performing Arts Centre Iceland provides information,  education and conducts seminars.

Advisory board

The Advisory Board is composed of three representatives and three deputies. Its role is to take decisions on the allocation of travel grants as well as other grants to be allocated by the Centre and is advisory on major international cooperation projects created in the field of performing arts.

Appointment of an Advisory Board under the designation of SAFAS, a consultative forum for professional associations in the performing arts - 1. April 2022 - 31. March 2024.
