ALDA
ALDA is a live installation existing on the boundaries between dance and visual arts. Inspired by women’s collective physical labor, the work uses repetitive motions and singing to create an atmosphere of deep listening and togetherness through movement, sound and material. The name ALDA, or WAVE, does not only reference the wave as a movement, but also refers to recurring rituals and tasks, including labor that is never finished.“...an immersive world that breathes feminine power”
Bio
Katrín Gunnarsdóttir is an Icelandic choreographer based in Reykjavík. Her work focuses on soft encounters, using embodied listening and affective labor of the dancer to create intricate choreographic landscapes. Katrín creates work for stage but also creates installations in galleries, museums and public spaces. She has made award-winning performances that have been supported and presented by national and international venues and festivals.
