Collaborative Contaminations
In Collaborative Contaminations Rósa explores transformations that occur through the encounter of water with various materials. Through choreographic methods, she creates a dance of water, air, sound and pigment. Clean water gets contaminated and transforms into uncanny and magical landscapes. images of cell-like microcosmos, aurora borealis, a boiling terrain and vast galaxies arise and are choreographed together with live soundscapes made from water and ice.
Bio
Rósa Ómarsdóttir is an award winning Icelandic choreographer. Her artistic practice explores human and non-human encounters, in search for non-anthropocentric narratives. Her ongoing research aims at finding a rich ecosystem that combines humans, objects and invisible forces. Her work is interdisciplinary by nature and weaves together choreography, live sound-production, and visual art, with a feminist approach to dramaturgy incorporating vulnerability and flux.
