Reykjavík Dance Festival is an international platform for dance and body-based performance in Iceland, and one of the most forward-thinking festivals of its kind in Europe. The festival fosters an active, year-round dialogue with audiences through the works and artists it presents, supports, and produces, as well as through its strong international collaborations, including its participation in the Aerowaves network.Founded in 2002, RDF has grown significantly over the past two decades. Today it presents an annual international dance festival each November and leads a wide range of year-round activities—festivals, workshops, events, and artist residencies—that support artists in developing new works and artistic approaches in close dialogue with the Icelandic context.
