Raw space for rehearsals and experimentation

Tóma rýmið is an independent and raw performing arts space in Skerjafjörður in Reykjavík, intended for artistic development, experimentation, and innovation. The space opened in 2020 and has since become an important venue for emerging performance artists and independent groups working outside traditional theatres.
Tóma rýmið is run by artists on a volunteer basis and is built on a philosophy of an accessible, flexible, and user-driven space. Despite its simple facilities and minimal equipment, it has proved to be a key infrastructure for experimental works, workshops, and research, and plays an important role in the grassroots landscape of Icelandic performing arts.
Tóma rýmið is not suitable for public events.
