Allocation of travel grants in January 2024

The Advisory Board of the Performing Arts Centre of Iceland completed the allocation of travel grants on February 12, 2024, which were announced for application on January 4. A total of 14 applications for travel grants for 48 persons totalling ISK 3,850,000 were received. This time there were 2,475,000 kronor for distribution. During the selection of projects, the objectives were to arouse interest, increase the visibility and demand of Icelandic stage works outside Iceland.
The Advisory Board for this application round included Friðþjófur Þorsteinsson, Ólafur Kjartan Sigurðsson and Rebekka A. Ingimundardóttir. Friðrik Friðriksson conducted the  meetings on behalf of the Performing Arts Centre.

The  selection of the Advisory Board for travel grants this time are:

Lovisa Wish Gunnarsdóttir - 375.000 kr.to go with the dance show “When the bleeding stops” at festivals in Ljubljana and Budapest in October 2024
Erna Omarsdóttir and Shalala - 225,000 kr. to go with the dance show “IBM a user's manual” at a festival in Italy in July 2024.
Playgroup Spindrift - 300.000 kr.
to take the performance “Them” to China in June 2024
Circus Art Society - 600,000 kr.to go with the sircus performance “Sæskrímslin” to  Festspillerne in Northern Norway in June 2024.
Margaret Erla Maack - 300.000 kr to take a burlesque show on  tour to Sweden, Finland and Denmark in February 2024.
Asrun Magnusdóttir - 600.000 kr
to take the performance “The teenage songbook of love and sex” to Germany in June 2024.
Greta Clough - 75,000 kr.to pitch works at the Bibu Festival in Sweden in May 2024.

A total of ISK 2,475,000 is allocated to 7 performing arts groups for 32 people touring during the year.
