Allocation of grants for participation at Tanzmesse 2024

Performing Arts Centre  Iceland has awarded grants to five choreographers to participate in Tanzmesse 2024, to be held in Düsseldorf. The applications were many and the choice was difficult, but in the end we selected Rosa Omarsdóttir, Asrún Magnúsdóttir, Lovisa Osk Gunnarsdottir, Birta Ásmundsdóttir and Katrin Gunnarsdottir for the Icelandic delegation.

The selection committee included Tinna Grétarsdóttir, Managing Director of the Dansverkstæðið and Ásgerður Gunnarsdóttir at Dansit in Trondheim.

Tanzmesse is one of the largest dance markets in the world where artists, producers and dance lovers from all over the world come together to showcase and view the latest works of contemporary dance. During Tanzmesse there will be various events, including performances, seminars and workshops. Performing Arts Centre Iceland will also have a booth at the market where choreographers working in Iceland can present their work and connect with international partners.

We wish the beneficiaries all the best and look forward to watching their progress at Tanzmesse 2024, where they will present Icelandic dance culture internationally.
