Towards Equity in the Arts – Recording Now Available

The recording of the symposium Towards Equity in the Arts, which took place on Saturday, November 16th, 2024, at The Nordic House in Reykjavík, is now available on the Performing Arts Centre Iceland’s YouTube channel.

Part of the Reykjavík Dance Festival 2024, the event focused on equity, diversity, and accessibility in the arts. The program included:

Keynote Speech: Abid Hussain, Director of Diversity at Arts Council England.

Panel Discussion: Featuring Julian Owusu, Dr. Kristín Loftsdóttir, and Miriam Petra Ómarsdóttir Awad.

Hosts: Sonya Lindfors and Julian Owusu, known for their community-building practices in the arts.

The symposium was part of the BRIDGES Nordic collaboration project funded by Kultur Kontakt Nord, with additional contributions from MDT, HAUT, Dansens Hus Oslo, and UrbanApa. The event was co-produced by Reykjavík Dance Festival, The Nordic House, and Performing Arts Centre Iceland.
